Buenos Aires, April 14 (NA) – Different meteorologists warned that this Wednesday the phenomenon of cyclogenesis could repeat itself in the City of Buenos Aires and the Conurbano, which will mark a day with persistent rains and storms of varying intensity. According to the National Meteorological Service (SMN), precipitation is expected throughout the day in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), although the most adverse conditions would be registered from noon and during the afternoon, when the phenomena could intensify. In addition, yellow and orange alerts are in effect in different sectors of the Buenos Aires territory, mainly in the northeast and west of the province, as well as in several regions of the country's north. According to the meteorological report, the area will be affected by rains and storms, some locally strong, which will be accompanied by abundant rainfall in short periods. This will be added to by frequent electrical activity, possible hail, and wind gusts that could reach 80 kilometers per hour. Regarding precipitation accumulations, the SMN estimates values between 30 and 80 millimeters, which could be exceeded in some areas. This type of phenomenon, known as cyclogenesis, implies the formation of a low-pressure system that can intensify weather conditions, generating persistent rains, storms, and strong winds in relatively short periods.
